UCWAX 108A is polyethylene wax. It delays plasticization, controls surface precipitation, and improves the demoulding performance during the processing of PVC products. It can enhance the fluidity, lubricity, and the dispersibility of pigments and fillers in plastics, achieve moderate external lubricity and improve glossiness.
Its main characteristics are as follows:
• Improve the glossiness of the hard PVC surface.
• Delay the plasticization of PVC products.
• Improve the dispersion of plastic fillers and pigments.
• Improve the demoulding performance.
Typical applications: Masterbatch, suitable for hard PVC products, such as profiles, pipes, pipe fittings, blinds, wood - plastic composites, granules, etc.
I. Supplementary on the mechanism of action in the processing of PVC products
Regarding the aspect of delaying plasticization:
During the PVC processing, UCWAX 108A forms a lubricating film on the surface of PVC resin particles. This film can slow down the melting speed of PVC resin during the heating process, thereby delaying plasticization.
Regarding the control of surface precipitation:
It has good compatibility with the PVC system, but it will not be overly dissolved in the PVC matrix. When PVC products are in use, various internal additives and small - molecule substances may migrate to the surface (i.e., precipitate), and UCWAX 108A can interact with these substances that may precipitate.
Regarding the improvement of demoulding performance:
During the molding process of PVC products, UCWAX 108A will be enriched at the interface between the mold and the PVC material. It can reduce the friction between the PVC material and the mold surface, making it easier for PVC products to be removed from the mold after molding. The molecular structure of UCWAX 108A has a certain linearity and flexibility. In the PVC system, it can play a role similar to "ball bearings" among the PVC molecular chains.
